Couples Counseling

Some aspects of daily life, as well as more unique severe issues, can strain relationships. Common stressors include difficulties at work, child-rearing, and disagreements with extended family. Resentment, infidelity, intimacy issues, lack of trust, and miscommunication qualify as severe stressors. When problems go unresolved, or a partner is suffering from mental illness or health complications, one can feel helpless or have feelings of guilt or shame.

Couples often seek couples or marriage counseling when the relationship is at a standstill. This type of therapy can benefit couples and families with children who have been affected by life and relationship issues such as divorce, and confront the source of the conflict.

Treatment techniques may include:

  • Analyzing Your Communication
  • Getting to the root of the problem
  • Enhancing Intimacy
  • Individual Counseling

When a relationship is showing signs of strain from the stressors of everyday life or from more serious issues such as addiction, emotional abuse, sexual abuse, and/or severe depression, seek guidance from a therapist. Through an exploration of your relationship and the development of healthier ways of interaction, your marriage will emerge from therapy more fulfilling and stronger than ever.
